Champagne Andre ROBERT Les Horizons Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut
A selection of plots on Mesnil sur Oger grand cru, Cuis 1er cru, Etrechy and Vitry, 20% of which are vinified and matured in small barrels on lees with stirring for 10 months. The whole is blended quietly without malolactic fermentation to keep the typical freshness of the Mesnil sur Oger Chardonnay. This wine is a beautiful interpretation of Chardonnay
A very fine nose with a beautiful and delicate minerality with first flavours of white flowers and white fruits dominated by apple compote. With aeration comes light buttery notes, fresh almond and fresh lemon juice, then with the passing of time a nice exotic touch evoking pineapple. The palate is very fine and delicate, the minerality and freshness are extremely well mastered as is the dosage. The aromas of sweet almond, white fruits (apple, pear, white peach) and citrus fruits blend perfectly with the pretty saline and iodine touch that punctuates the mouth. The finish is long and rich with a nice patina. A typical white wine, easy and very pleasant. Perfect as an aperitif, it will easily accompany oysters or fine fish in foil.
