Description
This 1986 vintage was made by sourcing only from 5 Grand Cru villages, 1 Premier Cru village and 1 Cru village. This cuvée has the particularity of not having undergone malolactic fermentation. It is a Champagne but above all it is a great wine over which time has no hold. The 1986 vintage was able to strike a balance between freshness, fruitiness and vinosity without masking the wine’s character and purity.

Tasting | A nose with candied fruit accents such as citrus and apricot combined with notes of honey, dry hay and a brioche aspect. Grilled and smoky aromas are present in the background. The palate is generous and elegant, yet powerful at the same time. The balance is perfect between the unctuousness of these candied and honeyed aromas and the minerality still present due to the recent disgorging and the absence of malolactic fermentation. A masterpiece! An amateur aperitif in small groups or to accompany a roast squab with porcini mushrooms or a 36-month Comté cheese. |
