Description
An archetypal white wine that develops the right maturity of the grapes, the freshness of the Champagne region and a comfortable texture in the mouth. This Cuvée is made exclusively from the first pressing of great Chardonnay vintages from the heart of the Côte des Blancs: Oger and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, 20% of which are vinified in small old oak casks. 7 years of ageing in the cellar, including a minimum of 18 months of rest after disgorgement, allow it to reach this level of expression. To be uncorked or kept.

Tasting | First nose reserved, held. Gradually the freshness of the citrus fruit, the grapefruit, opens up the wine. The astonishing aromas of stone fruit and ripe apricot follow in force. Honeyed notes, concentration of white flowers sharpened by peppery and even mentholated notes. After several minutes in the glass, notes of liquorice, toasted bread and marzipan appear, mixed with candied fruits. On the palate the attack is enveloping, the substance is deep, ample, almost carnal, punctuated by a light effervescence. Faithful to the nose, we find in the mouth the fruit, the saltiness, the spice of cedar wood… Intensity, strength, but also grace are revealed in these successive openings. A very long finish. A Champagne as an aperitif, but also with seafood dishes combining land and sea. |
