From the great terroirs of Ambonnay, Bouzy and Verzennay classified as Grand Crus, this champagne is a rosé blend of Pinot Noir (including 5% of the famous red Ambonnay) and Chardonnay. The wine is made with indigenous yeasts and in oak barrels. The wine is not filtered and benefits from a long maturation on lees of at least 48 months and a low dosage. | Tasting | The Rosé Grand Cru Egly-Ouriet has a salmon pink colour and very fine bubbles. On the nose it is an elegant champagne, with floral notes reminiscent of roses. On the second nose, we discover quite expressive red fruit aromas, like a rosé de saignée with a slight appearance of citrus notes on the finish. On the palate, it is a full-bodied wine, with a nice roundness, offering notes of forest fruits and red berries. It is a very precise, very pure palate that gains in length and power. A very pleasant rosé champagne, another success from Francis Egly. Perfect as an aperitif, it is also perfect for fish à la plancha, such as a roasted red mullet fillet |
