Description
This cuvée comes from the Montigny sous Chatillon terroir in the Marne Valley. It is a plot planted with pinot noir and pinot meunier, planted in 1968 on sandy soil. Warm and draining, this soil is poor in organic matter and fertilising elements, which results in early harvests with low yields and therefore high quality grapes. Aged 11 months in casks and corked, this wine has great complexity and vinosity.

Tasting | One perceives notes of red fruits with a lot of freshness. Strawberry and redcurrant, accompanied by a hint of reinette apple, set the tone. As the weather warms, the expression is more earthy, evoking roots, foliage and crushed fruit. The attack is supple and marked by effervescence. The latter quickly melts into the light body of the wine and supports the acidity to enhance the beautiful fruitiness of the wine. Despite the low dosage, the wine expresses itself without aggressiveness thanks to the good selection of juices. This Blanc de Noirs stands out from its peers. Far from seeking concentration and power, it expresses its personality with delicacy and elegance. It delivers itself to the curious taster like a liquid, evanescent fruit. It can be enjoyed as an aperitif and then with more marine notes as well as with risottos. |
