Description
The production of this single-plot, single-varietal Cuvée planted in 1973 is limited to less than 4,000 bottles per selected vintage. Vinified entirely in oak barrels followed by an 8-month ageing period without malolactic fermentation, this cuvée is unique in many ways because, as its name indicates, the grapes contained in this cuvée come from “Vieilles Vignes Françaises” (old French vines) planted in “francs de pieds”. Very rare nowadays, these vines were able to escape the ravages of phylloxera without the use of American rootstock. A wine for gourmets, this cuvée allows you to enter the world of Champagne wines.

Tasting | On the nose, the power of the Pinot Noir dominates with notes of ripe fruit and milk caramel. Woody and smoky notes complete the richness of this nose. The density of the wine on the palate, the aromas of dried apricots, blackberries and plums, combined with a great freshness gives a unique sensation. The power remains throughout the tasting and leaves a full and harmonious finish. The olfactory notes of ripe fruit and caramel are enhanced by the minerality of the wine. It is impossible that tasting this wine will leave you indifferent, especially if you like spicy charcuterie and other game terrines. |
