The Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill, a prestige cuvée from the House of Pol Roger, was created as a tribute to Sir Winston Churchill, with references to the qualities he appreciated in Champagne: robustness, structure and maturity. Made exclusively from the grapes of the Grands Crus of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay already in production during the Churchillian era, it is only made in the best vintages. The predominance of Pinot Noir undoubtedly ensures the structure, fullness and robustness of the whole, while the Chardonnay gives it elegance, finesse and impertinence.

| Tasting | The wine seduces with its splendid golden colour, intense and brilliant. The first nose, subtle, opens with scents of dried flowers (rose petals) which are delicately intermingled with peppery notes, revealing a beautiful freshness. On aeration, a few hints of vanilla and candied fruit complete a well-established and open nose. The attack in the mouth is well-balanced and supported by a hint of citrus fruit, confirming the intense freshness of the first nose. Then the wine reveals itself to be bewitching and greedy; it reveals notes of zesty citrus fruits, quince and green tea, amplified by a deliciously elegant effervescence, a reflection of this cuvée of character, all in power. The large proportion of Pinot Noir gives it structure and length as well as a perfect balance between generosity and elegance. A symphony of sensations, such is the Sir Winston Churchill 2013. |
