Description
The 2002 wine year was mild and dry. The dry wind and good weather in September allowed the harvest to ripen in excellent conditions. Blend made from 80% Chardonnay from the great growths of the Côte des Blancs for 72% (Avize, Cramant, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger) and from the Montagne de Reims for 28% (Sillery, Puisieulx) and 20% Pinot Noir vinified in red, from the growths of Sillery and Verzenay

Tasting | From the outset, this vintage surprises with its intensity and aromatic complexity; notes of exotic fruit (guava) and citrus (blood orange, citron) mingle with floral aromas such as violets and roses, with an animal touch evoking musk. Aeration reveals a different register, with notes of allspice, then orange blossom brioche, orgeat, with a background of perfectly ripe red fruit. The richness of the 2002 vintage makes for a wine with exceptional fullness and volume. We find a beautiful aromatic palette, in a fruity, floral and spicy register. The low dosage leaves a final of great purity where the great vintages that make up this cuvée are expressed. The Dom Ruinart Rosé 2002 will enhance dishes such as Pigeon lacquered with soya, Mallard duck with chanterelle mushrooms and Morello cherries or a side of veal "basse température" and its risotto. |
