Arman is famous for his ‘piles’ and ‘broken objects’ (watches, clocks, horns or violins), with which he recreates aesthetic compositions, sculptures, settings and paintings. The bottle created for the Taittinger Collection in 1985 is the very illustration of this style. On a black lacquered background, golden violins are interlaced. The invisible musicians who animate them are not, however, absent from the scene. We imagine them, thanks to the evocative talent of the artist, sending the most ardent of symphonic tributes to the wine of Champagne.

The 1981 harvest was also one of the smallest that Champagne has seen since the post-war period. However, it has an excellent reputation in terms of quality. After a sunny August and a relatively rainy September, the alcoholic degree is high in both the black and white grapes.
