Description

On the bottle, Corneille expresses his art, the two significant constants of which appear as early as 1946: line and colour are affirmed as essential values, and it is the line of colour on the flat surface, pure or modulated, that structures the figures. On a green background like the leaves of the Champagne vines, birds have strange shapes, like those found on the bas-reliefs of Coptic monasteries or the totems of Indian tribes. Birds ready to fly away, freeing themselves from barriers and borders, carrying a universal message of gaiety like the wine they embody.

Following a hot summer, the 1990 harvest was quite early. These climatic conditions favoured a strong maturity with an exceptional sugar level in Champagne, without however affecting the acidity which remained satisfactory. The wines are powerful, full-bodied and rich in aroma, so they are fresh in the mouth. This structure has enabled this very characteristic vintage to be kept for a long time.
