Description
Created in the 18th century and served at the court of the kings of France, rosé champagne is at the very origin of the success of champagne. A symbol of the joyful and liberated luxury of the Roaring Twenties, it is still very popular today. This cuvée is only produced when the year is exceptional, not only in Chardonnay, but also in Pinot Noir. The blend includes 15% of Bouzy Pinots vinified in red, whose fairly long pre-fermentation maceration provides a beautiful tannic structure, with red and black fruit aromas.

Tasting | Both greedy and fresh, the nose evokes aromas of raspberry, black cherry, then peach and slightly stewed pear, all enhanced by subtle mentholated scents. On the palate, the extremely fine and precise attack gives way to the perception of a chiselled tannic structure, revealing all the strength of the Grand Cru limestone terroirs from which it comes. Stretched by a brilliant chalky acidity and an exquisite freshness, the palate stretches out in a beautiful aromatic purity leaving this persistent impression of delicate salinity. It is ideal with white meats but can also show its full potential with lobster. A formidable vintage whose overflowing energy, full of finesse, also blends with the power of certain cheeses, old Comté, Chaource, or with the acidic sweetness of baked pears or cherry pie. |
