Description
Produced from “Les Sables” old vines over 50 years old in Oeuilly, this wine is vinified in Burgundy barrels, without malolactic fermentation, nor filtered or clarified, and has aged for almost 12 years in bottle. Ungrafted (Franc de pied) is the name given to specify that a vine has not been grafted. Indeed, since the phylloxera epidemic at the end of the 19th century, practically all the grape varieties have been grafted onto rootstocks, most of which are of American origin. Le non greffée est donc d’origine française. Taste a rare Champenoise, perhaps the only Chardonnay “franc de pied”.

Tasting | An intense, fresh and elegant nose with melted fragrances of white flowers (acacia, lime) and green apple. It is also deep and very pure. A mineral and silky mouth with nuances of white fruits (apple, pear) and delicate aromas of hazelnut and almond. Chardonnay from another universe it is still fresh and mineral with an amazing length. To be enjoyed on its own as an aperitif to make the most of its singularity or as a Champagne to match with fine shellfish. |
