For almost a century, the Saintot family has been making champagnes and running a nursery. A 10-hectare estate, 90% of which is planted with Pinot Noir, the king of grapes in the region. Morgann has a hobbyhorse, the environment, proven by the HVE certification in 2014 and a passion, experimental winemaking: stainless steel tanks, barrels, tuns, eggs and this year Kvévri (Jarre). | Tasting | A nose of a very beautiful aromatic intensity on notes of white fruits, white flowers and with a beautiful minerality which prolongs the aromas. The attack in the mouth is lively, slightly chalky mineral, then the aromatic explosion arrives. It has a rich aromatic palette with flavours of pear, apple and red and black fruits such as strawberry and blackberry. A superb, long and aromatic finish. A very fine champagne, ideal as an aperitif for its finesse and delicacy or to accompany a sauté of veal with green olives. |
