Description
Originally, it was the red wines that made the Champagne region famous. Favourite wines of Henri IV, the Pinot Noirs of the commune of Aÿ were the most prized at the French court. La Côte aux Enfants comes from a steep plot on the outskirts of Aÿ. Bollinger now owns the four hectares in a single block of land. Aged for eight months in small oak barrels, vinified in the Burgundy style for a very great red wine, whose production is confidential and reserved for the greatest vintages.

Tasting | To the eye, a beautiful garnet colour. On the nose, spicy notes combined with intense aromas of elderberry, black cherry and blueberry. The palate is full of liquorice and black fruit flavours, complemented by a beautiful tannic structure. La Côte aux Enfants is a wine for connoisseurs, in search of the specialities of the Champagne region. This wine is surprisingly concentrated and powerful. A perfect accompaniment to tournedos with shallot confit and red wine sauce or poultry and duck. |
