Description
Made from 4 parcels (Livry, Voyettes, Alouettes, Voies) of Verzenay for the Pinots Noirs and Villers Marmery for the Chardonnays, this Champagne is a tribute to the history and construction of the Henriet Bazin estate. Soil work, selection and love of wine are all reflected in this cuvée made from 30% of a perpetual reserve from 1968 to 2015. A real work, a real delight.

Tasting | The nose expresses itself with elegance in a greedy and pastry register, with notes reminiscent of candied yellow peach, almond pear, candied pineapple, quince compote, mirabelle plum tart and apricot jam. Aeration adds to the pleasure notes of candied orange, hawthorn flowers, poppy, rose, marmalade, sultana, honey, sweet spices, pomelo, pistachio. On the palate, it is supple and fresh and develops a pulpy and slightly coated fruitiness, supported by a lemony acidity. The mid-palate is orchestrated by a chalky minerality which confers frankness, iodine salinity and length on the palate. Ideal as an aperitif for its frankness and aromatic qualities, it will be wonderful with fish in sauce or ravioli with goats or truffles. |
