Description
This deep-soil vine needs many years to transfer the valuable salts from the subsoil to the grapes. The grape variety can then take over, without adding complexity. Each year, Les Orizeaux is matured in old oak barrels, from 2 to 9 wines, of Burgundy origin. No lees stirring is necessary, as the structure of the wine does not accept any additional heaviness. Les Orizeaux is a wine that can be appreciated in many ways. Aged in vats without air contact, it retains a supple, slightly oily texture on the mid-palate. Aged in barrels, this wine blossoms by balancing its chewiness as soon as the salts appear during ageing. This oily texture expands to offer a saline balance.

Tasting | Nose of good intensity, precise with evolution, slight oxidative hint, ripe fruit on yellow apple, white fruit, some citrus fruit. Fine notes of dried chamomile, lemon zest. Medium-bodied, energetic and straightforward. Hints of coffee, a touch of bitterness and a fine aromatic breadth can be discerned. Coated acidity, delicious without losing seriousness. Tightens on the finish, with a chalky feel. A long-lasting wine. The finish opens up and allows the aromas to express themselves. |
