Description
Krug Grande Cuvée was born from the dream of one man, Joseph Krug, who wanted to offer the best Champagne possible each year, regardless of the vagaries of the weather. Every year, the House of Krug honours the dream of its founder with a new edition of Krug Grande Cuvée, the most generous expression of Krug Champagne. This bottle belongs to the 170th Edition of Krug Grande Cuvée, a blend of 195 wines from 12 different years. The youngest is from 2014 and the oldest from 1998. A stay of about seven years in cellars gives it its particular expression and elegance. Each glass contains the fruit of more than 20 years of in-depth know-how.

Tasting | Visually, this Champagne has a pale gold colour and fine, lively bubbles, promising incomparable pleasure. Aromas of flowers, ripe, candied and dried citrus fruits, as well as marzipan and gingerbread stimulate the nose. Notes of hazelnut, nougat, barley sugar, fruit and citrus jelly, almonds, brioche and honey explode in the mouth. A wine rich in aromas with a very good length thanks to the numerous reserve wines and the ageing on lath. It goes well as an aperitif with Iberian ham or pieces of cheese such as Comté or Parmesan, or with the best dishes such as turbot with truffles. |
