Description
This rare blanc de blancs parcel champagne comes from the Corne Bautray vineyard, a 1 hectare plot planted in 1960 in Dizy on a steep south-west facing slope composed of stony clay on hard limestone. 2012 was a cool and wet year but with a magnificent end to the season, making it one of the great vintages of the Champagne region. Vinified and aged in oak barrels on lees, unfiltered.

Tasting | The nose first develops notes of lemon brioche and then evolves to honey, dried white flowers, nougat, yellow apple, peach and a touch of walnut. The palate is extraordinary, it is fresh, long, of a rare power and impressive precision. A vinous style, good depth, ripe but racy acids and a chalky aftertaste. An immense champagne. To be enjoyed as an aperitif or with lobster or sea urchins. |
