Description
1983 brought an abundant harvest to the Champagne region, despite a very wet winter and an appalling spring. Summer gives an extremely green vineyard and magnificent ripening of the grapes. The Pinots offer remarkable aromatic power, while the Chardonnays are characterized by surprising finesse and roundness. The wines are of a very high standard and can be kept for a long time.

Tasting | The first nose is very intense with notes of dried fruit and spices (hazelnut, almond, date, fig), followed by a more pastry-like register with honey, liquorice, vanilla and white chocolate. The attack on the palate is paradoxically fresh and unexpected: notes of citrus fruit (lemon meringue pie) surprise the gourmet sensation. Sensual hints of coffee and custard accompany this generous finish. Perfect with panettone and pan-fried foie gras, or sweetbreads in yellow wine. |
