Description

This vine retains enough moisture to excite the curiosity of roots at all soil heights. This iron-rich soil gives the roots a pinkish tinge and a tortuous shape, signifying high-quality soil for growing vines. This generous soil is often worked under a cover of natural grasses, limiting the generosity of the vines, excess water and therefore the availability of elements to the plants. Chemin de Reims is matured in 350 to 600 litre casks. Regular topping up at the end of fermentation preserves the originality of the wines from this parcel. Warm wine, with medium salivation on the back of the tongue. Tannic bitters line the palate. Chemin de Reims is planted mainly with Chardonnay, but the full-bodied, structured palate is so disturbing that the signs of the grape variety disappear in favour of the iron-rich soil. A sanguine texture, full-bodied on the mid-palate, then taut on the finish, is a sign of the origin of the place.
