Description
Maison Clandestin’s Champagne Les Revers is a Blanc de Blancs from the Kimmeridgian limestone-clay “Sorbée” plot, whose vines face due north. This pure Chardonnay offers a magnificent definition of terroir, at once concentrated and yet always very fine. The wine is then vinified and aged in 228l oak barrels for 10 months, then bottled and spent 15 months in the company’s cellars to develop its aromatic range.

Tasting | On the nose, the wine is extremely precise and pure. We discover a champagne with notes of gunflint, lily of the valley and orange blossom, as well as superb hints of toast, white-fleshed fruit and pastry. On the palate, the wine opens with a clean, bright, greedy attack. The floral fragrances that enchant the nose resurface on the palate. There are also hints of ripe peach, quince jelly and a touch of elderberry on the finish. The finish is gourmand and delicately saline. A champagne of great complexity. It's an ideal cuvée for the aperitif, but also to accompany seafood. |
