2008 was a fabulous vintage, probably one of the best of the decade. Great champagnes for laying down, they can be kept for special occasions, especially in this magnum format. Made from old vines on Ambonnay terroirs, it is composed of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, and has been entirely vinified in barrels, with low dosage. | Tasting | It is full-bodied, deep and multidimensional, with an immensely layered and concentrated core overlaying racy but ripe acidity, abundant but refined structuring dry extract. It's a wine of great purity, vinous and racy but still fresh. It has lovely notes of white-fleshed fruit, exotic fruits such as mango and passion fruit. A touch of acacia honey caresses your taste buds on the finish. An incredibly long, precise and sapid finish. |
