Description
Francis Egly is one of a handful of pioneering winegrowers who understood early on that the key to a great Champagne terroir lay in the quality and vitality of the vines and the health of the soil. As he says, with great humility: “I have no secrets, just well-made vines, that’s all. Here, the vines, built up through remarkable massal selections, are on average forty years old, and convey the energy and minerality of some of Champagne’s finest chalk terroirs. The quality of the grapes, the precision of the blends and the long maturation periods in the cellars enable us to offer unfiltered Champagnes that express the very essence of the Champagne region.

Tasting | It is distinguished by its harmony, finesse and amplitude. In the glass, aromas of pear, crisp yellow apple, ripe dried and yellow fruit, fresh bread, honey, frangipane, iodine and fresh mint take flight. This is a full-bodied, ample and complex wine, with a core of fruit, concentrated and balanced, combining precision and sensuality to convincing effect. Very racy, vinous structure, incredible persistence. Surrounded by racy acids and animated by a delicate mousse, it ends with a long, penetrating finish. Share a unique moment as an aperitif or enjoy with a lamb tagine. |
