Description
This champagne is made from a blend of seven remarkable vintages, each with its own singularity, and each carefully selected and matured in distinct environments, using different maturation processes, in stainless steel vats, oak foudres and flasks sur lie, since some of the blended wines have undergone a second fermentation in bottle before being “put back in the circle”. This singular blend begins with the fresh Grand Vintage 2013, vinified in stainless steel vats, followed by the refined 2012, the powerful 2010, the taut 2008, the full-bodied 2006 and the lively 2000, aged in oak foudres, and ends with the elegant 2004, aged for a long time on the lees in bottle after the second fermentation. It’s a high-oenology champagne, brut nature, delivering an eminently complex expression.

Tasting | Its aromatic profile is initially reserved, with tertiary, empyreumatic and mineral notes such as licorice stick, mocha and toast. On breathing, sweet secondary aromas of madeleine, vanilla and fresh hazelnut appear, followed by fruity nuances of candied lemon, mirabelle plum and dried fig. On the palate, complexity expresses itself between maturity and freshness, offering a generous and sophisticated experience. Its aromatic sweetness matches its delicate effervescence. The champagne palate gradually broadens, giving way to a back-and-forth of liveliness and bitterness. The finish is precise, without sugar, and lingers on notes of smoke and licorice, leaving an impression of sweetness. |
